Built From the Ground Up
The finished pavers are only the part you see. A lasting hardscape starts well before the first paver is placed. We begin by understanding how you want the finished space to look and function, then work through excavation, base preparation, elevations, drainage, installation and final compaction with the entire finished project in mind.
Plan, Prepare & Start the Base
We begin by confirming the layout, dimensions, materials and intended use with the customer so the finished project matches the vision before construction begins. Once the area is cleared, excavated and prepared, we begin installing the stone base that will support the finished hardscape.
Compact the Base & Establish the Starting Point
Once the stone base is installed and properly compacted, we verify elevations and establish a reliable starting point for the build. Existing entrances, stoops and adjoining surfaces help determine where the finished hardscape needs to meet the property.
Build, Check & Adjust as We Go
As the pavers are installed, we continually check grade, elevation, alignment and slope with the transit and make adjustments as needed. Maintaining the intended pitch and elevations throughout the build helps keep the finished surface consistent from start to finish.
Install With Precision
Every paver is placed with purpose. As the field is built, we continually check joint spacing, elevations, straight lines, borders, symmetry and slope so small inconsistencies do not become larger problems later in the installation.
Bring the Details Together
As installation nears completion, the walkway, steps, transitions and surrounding edges are brought together as one system. Final elevations, lines, borders and adjoining areas are checked before the surface is locked in.
Compact, Sand & Finish
The completed surface is roller compacted before polymeric joint sand is added. The pavers are compacted again to help settle the sand into the joints, followed by final sanding, cleanup and inspection of the finished hardscape.

Pavers that no longer sit evenly, joints that continue to open, loose edges or recurring movement can be signs that an area needs more than another layer of joint sand. The condition of the surface can help point us toward what needs to be investigated underneath or around it.

Steps and transition areas deserve particular attention because small changes in elevation can create awkward or unsafe movement. Loose materials, deteriorating support, failed edges and poor connections between concrete, pavers and surrounding grades may require repair, reconstruction or a better transition altogether.
Repair, Rebuild or Redesign?
Not every problem means everything has to come out. Depending on the existing materials, base and surrounding conditions, some areas may be candidates for selective repair or resetting. When the underlying installation has failed more extensively, rebuilding part or all of the area may provide the better long-term result.

Not every finished surface needs to be pavers. Decorative stone can create clean, low-maintenance areas around equipment, structures, landscape features and other spaces where turf or mulch may not be the best fit.
Defined edges are an important part of the finished result. Clean lines help contain the material, separate adjoining surfaces and give even a practical area a deliberate, finished appearance.
