Mulch & Gardening

When it comes to “Spring Cleanups”, mulch is the first thing that most customers think of. Mulch can be fairly inexpensive to rejuvenate year to year if you don’t have an abundance of it.

Here at Distinct Surroundings, we offer more than just resurfacing your mulch beds. We include a heavy weeding service in our spring cleanups to prepare for mulch as a separate service. When we do a mulch service, we redefine all the edges (if applicable), we remove all the weeds (mostly by hand), we remove some old mulch if necessary, and after laying the new mulch, we sprinkle a layer of Preen (or equivalent).

We recommend that if you want annuals, perennials or other plants installed, this be done before we lay in the new mulch. With every plant installation we bring in some fresh soil to fill in around it and sprinkle some of that Preen (or equivalent) that we mentioned above.

To compliment a nice garden or mulch bed, we offer edging of various types. See pictured EP Henry Curbstone used to border all the beds of this property. We also added a nice stepping paver walkway!
